OUR MISSION
WE EXIST to serve our Savior by serving our community; ENGAGING our culture with Christ-focused outreach, ENCOURAGING the downcast and broken by sharing with them the gospel of truth, EDIFYING other believers through discipleship and brotherly love, and creating an atmosphere of worship where our community can ENCOUNTER the presence of God in an environment of PENTECOSTAL FIRE.
Church History
Cedartown Church of God was established in 1929 as the result of a tent revival conducted by Rev. A. Thompson. At the conclusion of the revival, believers met regularly at the home of Bob and Emma McCain on the corner of West Avenue and Fifth Street and thus, the Cedartown Church of God was born. They remained in the McCain home until a more permanent church building was built on Canal Street. As the church continued to grow, the need for a larger facility became apparent and in 1942 a larger building was built on South Cave Spring St. The church prospered there until 1959 when they made their move to 448 West Ave where they currently gather to worship and serve weekly. After 92 years, the church remains a strong, vibrant beacon of God's love and compassion in Polk County, Ga.
